Secret Prisoner story in Daily Mail

This is a story about a woman who was initially tried in absentia and then imprisoned in secret for the "crime" of taking her father to see a lawyer in Birmingham.

This really is not on. There is complacency in government about this sort of thing.

What are you going to do about it, John?

Will the Government continue to hide behind the 'independence' of the Judiciary?

betya he just carries on working fo rthem, trying to give them an air of respectability...;-)

and none of the words actually mean what words do mean anymore, they're just euphamisms to do whatever they like...

bltant example of John's PR skill which i do take exception to, as well a shis blatant censoring of my posts there

"The victims of the system
The victims of the system often are quite surprised at how it acts. What is seen by some as complacency is seen by those on the receiving end as corruption. Often they become quite agitated and as such it is relatively difficult to see through the agitation to the underlying problem."

it's not complacency or corruption! the Nazis were not corrupt, THEY WERE WHAT THEY WERE AND THEY ARE WHAT THEY ARE. same dif between murder and manslaughte at best, their level of culpability at best is only due consideration at sentencing stage---but if founf to be compalcency i wd also prosecute for fraud as well, pretending to do the job whilst not doing the job/ being a criminal...also a necessity for recovery of wages/ salary at the civil stage...same if i drive a car and kill someone, it's either murder, manslaughter a tragic accident or possibly a suicide....there is no other possibility and peopel should be held accountable for what people do, apart from the corpse of course as that wd be just silly.

Its the long genes that stop working

People who read my blog will be aware that I have for some time argued that most (if not all) diseases of aging are caused by cells not being able to produce enough of the right proteins. What happens is that certain genes stop functioning because of a metabolic imbalance. I was, however, mystified as to why it was always particular genes that stopped working. Recently, however, there have been three papers produced: Aging is associated with a systemic length-associated transcriptome imbalance Age- or lifestyle-induced accumulation of genotoxicity is associated with a generalized shutdown of long gene transcription and Gene Size Matters: An Analysis of Gene Length in the Human Genome From these it is obvious to see that the genes that stop working are the longer ones. To me it is therefore obvious that if there is a shortage of nuclear Acetyl-CoA then it would mean that the probability of longer Genes being transcribed would be reduced to a greater extent than shorter ones.
